BTL brings Thai-Laos freight train to join Laos-China railway network ceremony

BTL brings a freight train from Thailand to Laos to join the opening ceremony of the Laos-China railway network connection yard with the Thai-Laos railway network at Tha Bok Thanaleng port.

On July 1, 2022, the Lao PDR held an opening ceremony for the Laos-China Railway Network Connection with the Thai-Laos Railway Network at the Thanaleng Pier, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, along with government agencies and private sectors from the Lao PDR, China and Thailand.

The Laos-China Railway Company has laid additional railway tracks from Vientiane South Station, which is a 1.435-meter wide track, to Thanaleng Port to connect with the Thai-Laos railway network, which has a 1-meter wide track. The cargo yard is the connection point for loading and unloading containers to change routes or trains.

This connection will increase the efficiency of transportation, allowing the rail transport of goods from China via Laos to Thailand and then onward to other countries, or the transport of goods from Thailand via Laos to China, to be carried more conveniently and continuously.

BTL brought a freight train from Laem Chabang Port to join the opening ceremony of the Laos-China Railway Network Connection with the Thai-Laos Railway Network at Tha Bok Thanaleng Pier on this occasion.
