Lao National Railway and BTL join hands in transport connectivity

On January 19, 2023, Bangkok Terminal Logistics Co., Ltd. or BTL, a full-service logistics company, including rail freight transport on the Thai-Laos route (Nong Khai-Tha Bok, Thanaleng)

Mr. Bowornsin Tanthuwanit, Managing Director and MR. Daochinda SIHARATH, Director General of Laos National Railway State Enterprise (LNRE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in cross-border rail freight transport between Laos and Thailand to develop a system and booking service for Laos-Thailand trains.

For cargo transportation, connect the transportation with the Laos-China Railway efficiently. Connecting with an efficient Laos-Thailand Railway transportation booking system will allow the goods to reach their destination quickly, reducing connection time and costs, and having a positive effect on transportation and the overall logistics system.

The railway route of the Laos-China railway project is part of China’s “Belt and Road Initiative”, which seamlessly connects the transport routes of countries in the Mekong River Basin and ASEAN. The railway route is also a strategic project to transform Laos into a land-linked hub.
